Jabra Elite 75t updates the popular wireless headphones with USB-C, a smaller size, a better battery

I've been testing a lot of real wireless headphones over the past year and the Jabra Elite 65t remains the one I choose most often, even as rivals like the Jaybird Vista, the Sony WF-1000XM3, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless and the Samsung Galaxy. The buds and others give themselves to their heart's content.

For me, there has always been talk of balancing comfort, sound quality and Bluetooth reliability, with the 65t getting a high score in each category. Jabra is now upgrading the best wireless headset for 2019, with a smaller, more comfortable design, an improved USB-C charging case, and improved battery life.

The Elite 75t, which will be available in October for $ 199, is 20% smaller than its predecessors. The company's vice president of marketing, Calum MacDougall, told me that the headset team was working closely with Jabra's medical-grade audio product engineers in order to improve the quality of life. 39 optimize the design of each headset to fit more comfortably to the ears. A 20% reduction in size would allow more people to wear them comfortably for longer periods. Changes were made to the design to achieve this goal.

Bluetooth antennas have been miniaturized and used to use less energy; the capacity of the battery has been reduced; and there are now proprietary technologies from the aforementioned medical grade audio division to ensure that the earpieces maintain a connection to the host device.

Jabra succeeds in impressing. increase battery life on the Elite 75t, rising to 7.5 hours per charge versus 5.5 hours on the Elite 65t. They use the same speakers, microphones and sensors as before. Thus, a good sound quality is guaranteed – although, according to MacDougall, the sound quality is improved thanks to a better fit in the ear. Unfortunately, the headsets also carry the same disappointing codec specifications: SBC and AAC only.

This increased comfort comes from a reduction in the size of the "nose", which allows each ear to rest more comfortably in the ear – they are also lighter and less protruding, so that they are more comfortable. they will not fall, even during vigorous exercise.

Jabra also said that care was taken to improve the case design, one of my least favorite aspects of the 65t. Now smaller and magnetic, the case contains three charges for a total running time of 28 hours – better than most competitors, except the earbuds with massive housings like the Sony WF-1000XM3 – and 39; fast charging via USB-C. The 75t always have an IP55 rating for moderate resistance to water and dust, as well as physical buttons on each headset for playback / pause and volume control. And like the 65t, Google Assistant, Alexa and Siri are supported.
