Jack Dorsey, billionaire co-founder and CEO of Twitter, a man who stans Bitcoin directly on his Twitter bio, is trying to sell its very first tweet as NFT – a digital asset that lives on the Ethereum blockchain.

You probably know the famous tweet, “just configure my twttr“:

Despite the fact that this tweet has been publicly available as a free digital item to watch anytime anyone wants for almost 15 years, Dorsey is now trying to sell it as an NFT, or “non-fungible token,” via a platform called Valuables.

As you can imagine, the auctions are already north of $ 80,000.

What does this tweet actually mean? “What you buy is a digital certificate of the tweet, unique because it was signed and verified by the creator,” according to the Valuables FAQ.

In other words, an autograph. You buy an autograph.

The tweet will continue to live on the Internet for as long as Dorsey and Twitter the company choose to maintain it.
