Jack in the Box fires a filmed employee refusing to serve a deaf woman and making fun of her

Another employee in the fast food industry was fired for treating a deaf client while driving.

In the video recently released from an August 31 incident in a Jack in the Box in Campbell, Calif., ReVae Arnaud-Jensen is seen talking to a female driver who refuses to take her command, or even listen to the explanation as to why she could not place the order to the speaker.

"I'm deaf," Arnaud-Jensen was told at the start of a two-minute clip that she shared on Facebook on Sunday.

"It's good, it's good – go see the interlocutor," says the employee pushing.

"I can not hear you," she tried to explain, before repeating her command – a number 8 – audibly and clearly several times.

The employee speaks to him, telling him repeatedly to "move" or "to go away", before accusing him of ignoring him when he was trying to take his order at the speaker.

Arnaud-Jensen tries again to explain that she can not hear the speaker, which is why she approaches the window. The worker starts to shout at her.

"Shut up!" He shouts. At other times in the video, he even seems to mock his voice and use a false sign language before telling him that she was not allowed to order and close the window.

"Towards the end of the video, once he realized that he was being recorded, he changed his face and made a mocking gesture of the video," wrote Arnaud-Jensen on Facebook.

"I refused to leave the window until I received an order. I sat there for two hours.

"We do not tolerate the mistreatment of clients and expect employees to follow all training procedures, that they are respectful, courteous and accommodating with all guests," said Jack in the Box in a statement.

Since then, Jack in the Box has stated that the employee seen in the video had been fired by the owner of this place.

"We do not tolerate the mistreatment of clients and expect employees to follow all training procedures, that they are respectful, courteous and accommodating," said the channel in a statement to KNTV . After a thorough investigation of the incident and direct contact with the owner of the local franchise, we understand that the employee of the video has ended. "

Arnaud-Jensen, however, is now considering considering a lawsuit against Jack in the Box, the channel reported.

"It's not just about training," she said, "it's not going to change … because you need this deep knowledge of deaf culture to fully understand the needs."

Arnaud-Jensen's ordeal follows a similar incident, also in late August, in which a Burger King hearing-impaired client claimed that service was denied at the drive-thru window. but that he had been invited to enter. This woman, too, claims to consider legal action.
