A star of the hit MTV series “Jackass” was bitten by a shark while wakeboarding in infested waters as part of a dangerous stunt that was filmed for “Shark Week”.

Sean McInerney was in the field filming the Discovery series when he was launched from a ramp and bitten on his hand when he failed to perform the stunt, reported The Sun.

“He’d be screwed if they didn’t dive into him as fast as they did,” Jackass co-star Steve-O said.

“Jesus, he was destroyed by a shark … for a ‘Shark Week’ episode.”

McInerney, known as “Poopies” on the show, suffered a deep bite that resulted in damage to arteries and tendons which were treated by a medical team on site, the outlet said.

The television thrill seeker had previously managed to wakeboard the infested waters, but the crew decided to take the feat up a notch by launching it from a ramp.

“It’s a reminder that yeah, like, we’re pushing pretty hard. And that could happen, of course, ”said co-star Chris Pontius.

McInerney didn’t seem particularly baffled by the incident and said he “definitely graduated from Shark College” after the bite.

“I knew there was a chance that I would get bit by a shark, but I didn’t think that would happen,” he said.

“I don’t blame the sharks at all. I mean, I was in their living room, and it was dinner time.
