Mets Relief Jacob Rhame was slapped by a two-game suspension, announced the MLB's commissioner's office. It was determined that he had intentionally pitched a pitch near the Phillies' first baseman's head Rhys Hoskins Tuesday.
We do not know yet if Rhame will appeal, even if Mike Puma of the New York Post tweets that he is supposed to do it. If he does, he will be eligible to remain on the active list during the suspension of the call.
Rhame, 26, has already received a retribution on the ground yesterday in the form of a Hoskins bomb, punctuated by an extremely slow trot. To his credit, Rhame did not hesitate to repay his investment by saying, "He has me. If I make a better pitch, he will not be able to run the basics.
As for the lineup, Rhame was already about to be sent after a bad performance to start the season. Foods can actually take advantage of the suspension (if and when it is served) to manage their memory load. They will be able to use it as needed, call a replacement during their absence, and then decide to choose Rhame or reduce it to the active membership list without being limited by the typical minimum 10-day assignment.
