According to a report of NFL Network Tom pelissero, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Damien Wilson.
The move is not unexpected. On Wednesday we learned that Wilson will be visiting the Jaguars.
Wilson, 27, was drafted out of Minnesota by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round (127th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. He joined the Chiefs as a free agent in 2019, starting 29 games during two seasons. He’s racked up 154 tackles (98 solo, six loss), 1.5. sacks, two forced fumbles and two defensive passes.
After the Chiefs drafted linebacker Willie Gay Jr. last spring – and Kansas City faced an uncertain salary cap situation – Wilson became exhaustible, so he was allowed to walk. Now he’s found a new home – and we expect chefs to continue to look for more depth in this position.
The details of the contract are – at the moment – unknown.
