The James Bond film No Time to Die was due for release in 2020 but has been delayed due to the pandemic.

And now the film’s bosses will frustratingly have to re-shoot key scenes as the MI6 agent’s technology is outdated, it was reported on Monday.

The updates will allegedly be made to the 007 franchise in hopes of saving product placement offers from sponsors who fear their high-tech items have evolved over the one-year time frame.

An insider told The Sun on Monday: ‘Details of the gadgets and items are all kept under wraps, but everyone knows James Bond always carries the latest kit with him.

But by the time the movie releases now, it will look like Daniel Craig and everyone else in the cast is wearing something that has been out for ages. This is not really the point of these agreements.

No Time To Die is the 25th film in the franchise and will feature Daniel Craig’s final performance as Agent 007.

A new version of the film was shared on Thursday on the film’s official Twitter account, revealing that the last scheduled date is October 8, 2021.

The film, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, was originally due for release in April 2020, but was pushed back to November before the release was changed again in April 2021 in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

No Time To Die follows Bond after leaving active service and enjoys a quiet life in Jamaica when his old friend Felix Leiter, played by CIA Jeffrey Wright, shows up for help.

Leaving his seemingly happy life with Madeleine (Lea Seydoux), Bond returns to the pitch to confront Safin (Rami Malek) who is armed with dangerous new technology that could impact the world.

Producer Barbara Broccoli has already teased what fans can expect and said the film will provide a satisfying ending to Daniel’s Bond.

Speaking on the official James Bond podcast, she said: ‘It’s the culmination of everything her portrayal of the character has been through and it ties all the stories together. It’s a pretty epic movie, I have to say.
