James Corden weighed in on the shameful situation in America following the inexcusable riot organized by supporters of Donald Trump.
MAGA supporters stormed the United States Capitol in scenes described as “close to a coup attempt this country has ever seen.”
A woman was shot dead by police during clashes inside the Capitol building and three others are believed to have died Wednesday night in Washington.
The historic building was locked down and the National Guard had to be called in to restore order.
And now, the former Gavin & Stacey star has shared her thoughts on the disturbing mess that was displayed in America on Wednesday.
James kicked off The Late Late Show by addressing the chaos in a grim opening monologue as he gave his take on the matter.
Additionally, James said the United States has been “hijacked” by a “madman and his mad army” for the past four years in a powerful rant over the shameful riot.
The actor went on to describe the shocking events as a “mad and sad day, a day that will go down in America’s long history.”
James also highlighted an important aspect of the Capitol Riots, adding that if these Trump supporters had supported the Black Lives Matter movement, they would have been shot.

“We all sat down today glued to photos of Trump supporters who entered the capital and fought with police, shouting in chambers of Congress or blatantly skipping a selfie as they sat there. feet in the office of government, ”he said.
“Then, under the guise of trying to calm the situation down, their hero, President Trump, issued a message telling these supporters that they are special and ‘we love you.’
“I wouldn’t imagine his treatment or response to these people if they wore BLM hats instead of MAGA red hats.”
He added: “I have come to think that when the dust settles and we reflect on what happened on that horrible day, we still have hope because I think if there is one thing that we can have after the last month in this country is hope. “

James, who was born in London, added that he had become an “outsider” who admired the United States, which made him even more shocked to see events unfold in the capital.
Despite his disgust with the handling of the riots, James reassured fans that the change was about to happen as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris prepared to move into the White House.
“Because in two weeks on those same stages, where this crowd fought and pushed the police, Joe Biden will be sworn in as President of the United States,” James continued.
“In two weeks that this mob has fought and pushed the police, Kamala Harris will be sworn in as Vice President of the United States.”
James continued, “And in two weeks, on those same stages where this mob fought and pushed the police, the people who encouraged and instigated this violence, Donald Trump, his kids, Rudy Giuliani, they’re all going to have need a tourist. pass to enter because they lost the presidency, they lost the house and now they lost the senate …
“Today was their last dance on the worst night we have ever attended, so if you can have hope … We have seen in the last few weeks in America that votes count, change is coming, the science is real, a vaccine is on its way.
“I truly believe there are better times to come.”
