After his last game with the Houston Rockets, James Harden didn’t exactly paint the team in a flattering light, which earned him criticism from Shaq.

β€œI literally did everything I could. It’s crazy. I don’t think it can be fixed,” he said as he walked over to the Brooklyn Nets. Shaq, meanwhile, retaliated by saying that it “isn’t true” that he gave everything to the city, suggesting it would be “a bust” for him if the Nets didn’t win the championship. Now Harden has apparently responded to Shaq in a subliminal shared on his Instagram, while also shouting at Dwyane Wade.

“We’re doing all of this talking about raising the next African American athlete / man and some of those former NBA players are using national television or their [sic] own social media to do the opposite, “he wrote.” I see that I am staying fair to myself. The real never loses! Hi @DwayneWade for its strength. “Harden had made no secret before his trade that he was not happy playing for the Rockets.

Contrary to Shaq’s view on the matter, Wade said he was happy for Harden, who delivered a 32-point triple-double, 14 assists and 12 rebounds in his first game for the Nets. β€œLet’s talk about this story: James Harden looks happy and there’s no price for that feeling,” Wade wrote. “Could he have handled things better. YES! But couldn’t we all. I’m happy for this black man.”

Harden played for the Rockets from 2012 to 2021, winning the NBA MVP in 2018.
