Jamie Carragher has launched a passionate defense of "playing hard", criticizing John Stones for his "stupid" mistakes.

The Manchester City Central Rear Stones played a role in all three goals of Holland against England in the semifinal win of the League of Nations.

Commenting on Stones' progress since leaving Everton for Man City, Carragher added, "I do not think John Stones got the hang of it after making this change from Everton.

"I still do not have the impression that he enjoys 100% support from Pep Guardiola.
