“Once you have fun with your face, you can’t get it back. “
Jamie has been famous for a long time! You’ve probably seen her in the Halloween franchise, Horrible friday, and of course, Knives Out…
As someone who has been in the public eye for so long, Jamie will no doubt have some thoughts on classic Hollywood trends like plastic surgery.
In fact, Jamie recently shared his thoughts on current trends in plastic surgery and social media filters. She told Fast Company: “The current trend of fillers and procedures, and this obsession with filtering, and the things we do to adjust how we look on Zoom are erasing generations of beauty.”
“Once you rub your face, you can’t get it back,” she added.
Jamie also commented on how social media affects the way we see ourselves: “I use social media to sell things and amplify things that I care about. Full stop. The rest is cancer. . I’ve never read a single review. “
Jamie knows 100% what she is talking about. “I tried plastic surgery and it didn’t work,” she said. “It made me addicted to Vicodin. I’ve been sober for 22 years now.”
This isn’t the first time Jamie has spoken about his addiction and sobriety issues. In a 2019 interview with Variety, she said she had struggled with pill and alcohol addiction. The pill addiction in particular stems from surgery she underwent after a cameraman commented on her “puffy eyes” on set.
“I naturally had swollen eyes,” she said. “If you see pictures of me as a kid, I feel like I haven’t slept. I’ve always been that person, and we were shooting a scene in a courtroom with that kind of high, nasty fluorescent light. , and it came to my cover in the scene, and [the cameraman] said, ‘I’m not shooting him today. His eyes are too swollen. ‘”
“I was so mortified and so embarrassed and I was so ashamed about it that after this movie I went to have routine plastic surgery to remove the bags.”
We love you for your honesty, Jamie. And if I ever see this cameraman …
