Among the crowd of Trump supporters incited by the president who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday was a man wearing a furry hat with horns and a face painted red, white and blue. He has been identified as Jake Angeli, the “QAnon Shaman” who according to the Republic of Arizona, has been a regular at Trump rallies for some time. Yesterday, more than a few people on social media pointed out his resemblance, at least in silhouette, to Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay, as seen on the band’s debut album in 1993, Emergency on planet Earth. Jamiroquai was all the rage on Twitter because of it.
Jay Kay taken to twitter Thursday morning just to let fans know that the QAnon Shaman was not the Space Cowboy. “Hi Washington, I love hairstyles, but I’m not sure this is my crowd,” he wrote, adding in the video, “Some of you might think you got me. seen in Washington last night, but I’m afraid I’m not with all these monsters.
He goes on to say thank you for his recent birthday wishes – he turned 51 on December 30 – and noting that he is relaxing in the UK lockdown. “COVID 19 is still going on, the UK on lockdown. However, the way we treat our animals – raising them, caging them, whatever – we’re going to keep having this over and over again, so I hope we will try and learn our lesson. “
