Backstage at Creative Arts Emmys, Sunday, after winning his guest comedy gong for Ms. Maisel, Jane Lynch revealed that she had a humorous series at Netflix, in which she would play with Cyndi Lauper.
"We are our age now. I am almost 60 years old and she is 65 years old. We are looking for our next issue and we have no children, "she said about the series.
A priori reluctant to disclose details, she said, "I do not think I can do it," but then gave in and said, "This is a Daddy's Girls for today. "
The potential series will feature two other main characters, which Lynch said have not yet launched.
According to sources, the humorous series, in development at Netflix for over a month, was created by creators Stephen Engel and Carol Leifer. Skydance Television, the studio behind Netflix's similar themed comedy, produces Grace and Frankiewith Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin starting her final season.
Lynch's win tonight was the first for her Ms. Maisel Sophie Lennon, although she was already nominated last year. It also produces and hosts Hollywood night of games for which she has won twice as a host.
