Former “America’s Next Top Model” judge Janice Dickinson writes beyond the television screen.
Dickinson said models like Gigi and Bella Hadid as well as Kylie Jenner “don’t compare” to models of her day on Thursday’s episode of the “Behind The Velvet Rope” podcast.
“The Instagram models who get famous, and they (get) featured in Vogue, the Kylie Jenners and the Gigi Hadids and the Bella Hadids. I mean they’re really pretty women, but they’re not models,” said Dickinson.

The former model attributed the models’ success to their following on social media, not their appearance or ability to walk the runway.
“Vogue uses them because they have millions and millions and millions of followers,” Dickinson said.
“They have a look. They don’t really diversify their movements. They just stand there and get paid millions of dollars. They’re not fierce walkers, are you kidding me? In my day there was Pat Cleveland. and Iman, who you never wanted to follow on the trail. “
Host David Yontef told Dickinson that Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner (although Dickinson only spoke about Kylie) might need to call him for help.
“At least send me a thank you card for all the money they make,” Dickinson said.
She added: “You know what girls, there are always criticisms in this industry, and you better work.”
Working does not seem to be a problem for the Hadid sisters. They were recently seen on the Versace 2021 Fall / Winter 2021 show on March 5. The Versace show was Gigi’s first postpartum after welcoming a baby girl in September with One Direction alumnus Zayn Malik.

As for the Jenners, Kylie and Kendall recently released a clothing line in collaboration with Amazon. The collection included pieces such as matching tie-dye loungewear and stylish jumpsuits meant to be an affordable and fashionable selection inspired by the sister’s street style.
