Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), A member of the House special committee investigating the Jan.6 riot on Capitol Hill, said on Sunday that the panel was “ready to move forward and urge the ministry to Justice “to prosecute anyone who refuses to comply with the panel’s subpoenas.

Four former aides and advisers to former President Donald Trump – Steve Bannon, Mark Meadows, Dan Scavino and Kash Patel – have all ignored requests for documents and testimony, at the behest of Trump and his legal team. In an interview with CBS News’ Confront the nation, Schiff said the select committee “wants to make sure these witnesses come in and testify” because it is their “legal duty”.

Schiff also applauded the Biden administration for “failing to assert executive privilege” on Trump White House documents regarding the assault on Capitol Hill. He said he believed the documents would be delivered “very soon”, adding that he applauded the administration for “not trying, because it protects its own prerogative, to deprive the American people of all the facts. So hats off to the administration. “

Last week, a lawyer for Bannon said his client would assert executive privilege, but as The Guardian note, Bannon was not working for Trump in the White House during the events of January 6.
