Target stores restock the PS5. This is the first time we’ve heard any information about Target in 2021, and we believe this year’s first Target PS5 will drop very soon.
If you’re new, we’ve successfully reported the target drop for December 21-29. We also reported Best Buy’s drop for December 15 before officially confirming it.
According to our regular sources and some news, Target stores will receive PS5 shipments on January 19 and 21, depending on their region, which is Tuesday and Thursday. Stores receive around 4-12 units.
From previous declines, we know that Target never owns stock. So as soon as Target stores receive inventory, we can expect a drop. For this drop, we can circle four dates – January 19, 20, 21 and 22. However, there is a catch.
The information comes from sources in several regions. So far we have heard the South East Region, Pacific Northwest, Midwest, and the South central Region. If you have any information on other regions, please feel free to send us a DM on Twitter. We will update this article once we have more information.
We may not see many cuts going forward, as “the tariff exclusions that had protected many companies from President Trump’s trade war expired at midnight Thursday.” You can read more about this by clicking here.
Our friend, Jake Randall also made a video about it. Go check it out. So the drops can be slow for a while. If there is a drop, however, we will always notify you 24/7 on our Twitter.
The catch
According to Jake, who has observed and spoken to several sources regarding Target, he might not be a massive collective drop but rather small individual. “I think stores can publish online, one at a time, whenever they want with their 4 consoles each,” Jake said. “I received confirmation from the company that 2 stores in Texas had just done this.”
Stores have very little inventory and therefore we can’t expect much from Target at this time. Speaking to multiple PS5 trackers, I can tell that the drops to follow would be comparatively weaker than what we have seen in the past. So it’s better not to have high expectations while looking for an opportunity.
A few stores that are supposed to receive PS5 units on the 21st have already have them, or 3 days earlier. The source mentions that many other stores nearby have also received the consoles. Some stores have as little as 1, while very few have more than 20. Keep in mind that, as always, some stores end up with no stock at all.
On the contrary, an executive team leader at a Target store in the south-central region said he had not received any information about the declines so far. Usually they receive memos before the drops happened, but they haven’t received anything at the time of this article’s posting. If anything changes, we will update the article, so check back regularly.
If we have any updates, we will post them on our Twitter account, so be sure to follow us there.
