Neither the Rams nor the Lions can comment on the successful trade that will send Matthew Stafford to Los Angeles and Jared Goff to Detroit until the deal becomes official at the start of the league’s new year.
But Goff gave a pair of interviews along the way, saying he hopes it will be good for his career.
Now he’s taken to social media to say his official farewell to his old town and say hello to his new one.
“Thank you to the whole city of Los Angeles for welcoming a 21 year old child with open arms and for making this city to feel at homeSaid Goff. “This town shaped the man I have become and I will be forever grateful to the Kroenke family, my coaches, support staff and most importantly my teammates for competing and fighting with me every Sunday – I made memories with each of you in this locker room that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
“To the fans, thank you for the continued support through all the ups and downs – it has meant the world to me. From the bottom of my heart it has been an honor to represent the city of LA
“Having said that, I couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter and I am ready to seize this new opportunity that lies ahead. Detroit, here I am.
