Jared Leto’s Justice League Snyder Cut Joker fully revealed

The first images of Jared Leto as Joker in Zack Snyder’s Justice League have been revealed, and he looks a lot more like a classic take on the character than the version seen in Suicide Squad.

The black-and-white footage, first revealed by Vanity Fair but later posted to Twitter by the film’s official account, shows a Joker with thick white makeup, stained eyes and lips, and long, greasy hair. The big difference, however, is that there isn’t a single tattoo in sight. Yes, the controversial “ damaged ” front design is gone. The white jumpsuit and disguise if her arm and hand tattoos remain, however.

We had heard before that Joker would look “road tired” in Zack Snyder’s new version of Justice League, and this version of the character certainly is that. We had a very blurry photo of Jared’s Let’s New Look on Twitter before, and at the time we had guessed that white clothes could be a hospital gown or some sort of straight jacket / institution garment. We can now see that it is a surgical gown and that there is a mask hanging from her neck. Snyder told Vanity Fair it was “probably” a holdover from his escape into the wilderness.

Snyder also revealed how Joker plays a role in the film’s story, so if you want to stay in the dark to watch Justice League’s Snyder Cut, you might be better off now. But if you’re up for spoilers, catch them in the next paragraph.Joker will appear in a new sequence set on a ruined Earth after Darkseid invades the planet. It’s a vision that Bruce Wayne experiences as a warning of what will happen if the Justice League fails to stop Darkseid’s plans. Naturally, Batman’s iconic nemesis is alive and well in this terrible future nightmare.

“What’s cool about the scene is that Joker speaks directly to Batman about Batman,” Snyder told Vanity Fair. “It’s Joker who analyzes Batman on who he is and what he is. This is what I also felt the fans deserved from the DC Universe. That is, the Jared Leto Joker and the Ben Affleck Batman, they never really got together. It didn’t seem cool to me that we were going to come all the way through this incarnation of Batman and Joker without seeing them come together.

Batman and the Joker have never faced each other in the current DCEU movies, but in Batman v Superman we saw that the two definitely have a story. Snyder suggests that this appearance will address Robin’s death, which is the armor we saw in the Batcave, covered in the Joker’s mocking graffiti.
