The recent broken relationship between one of Cleveland's other receivers and one of the other Jets coaches was lost in the recent match between OBJ and Gregg Williams before Monday's Jets-Browns game.

Jarvis Landry and Adam Gase wondered if Gase's threat as a Dolphins coach to exile players in northeastern Ohio was real or pleasant.

"It was in a team meeting and it was a joke at the time of one of the other players," Gase told reporters on Friday. "It was supposed to be a joke, and I think he took it a little seriously."

"It was not a one-off joke," said Landry Friday, via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. "But again, I'm happy to be here, I'm excited about the opportunity, the challenge, from the first day."

So was Gase serious?

"What do you think?" Said Landry, who was shipped from Miami to Cleveland in early 2018. "Where am I? Listen, honestly, dude, no matter what tactics are used or what has been said, all these things are in the past, I decided to move on, I have nothing to reproach Adam, I think he's a great coach, he calls well play and I'm excited about the opportunity, the game, who would have thought, no?

Common sense suggests that Gase did not unload Landry on the Browns. After applying the franchise label to Landry, Gase and the Dolphins instead found the best deal possible and did it. Really, who in his mind would make a worse deal just to hurt a player? It's one thing for a team like the Steelers not to trade Antonio Brown against the Patriots (oops); it's a different matter to trade a player for a specific team against grudge, while other players can get more.

Meanwhile, Gase can now joke about the Jets players' trade in Miami. And Landry would surely make fun of that one.
