Ahead of the Super Bowl, Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said he wouldn’t be surprised if quarterback Tom Brady signs an overtime that will keep him under contract beyond the 2021 season.

Winning the Super Bowl would only seem to make it more likely that both sides find a way to get things done, and general manager Jason Licht was asked if an expansion was in the cards when he made an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. Licht said he would keep his conversations with Brady “under wraps for now,” but reported that something was in the cards.

“His a possibilityLicht said. “He certainly didn’t look like he’d slowed down this year. It is a possibility and we will have to see how it goes. . . . It looks like he really had a great time this year winning the Super Bowl. Love our organization, love our coaches, love our head coach and owners and we certainly love it. Usually when you have those two things going for each other it’s a match made in heaven, so we would like to keep that going.

Brady is expected to earn $ 25 million in the 2021 season with a cap of $ 28.375 million after earning $ 3.375 million in bonuses from the Bucs title race.
