He’s the star of Game of Thrones and Aquaman, but Jason Momoa insisted that one of the scariest moments of his life was asking his wife Lisa Bonet.

The actor is the cover star of the December issue of Men’s Health, stunning in a desert shoot that mirrors his latest role in the long-awaited film Dune.

Jason takes the new role of warrior in his stride, but admits in the magazine’s accompanying interview that in real life, he’s “ not even the king of my own house. ”

The actor married Lisa – the ex-wife of rock star Lenny Kravitz – in 2017 after a 12-year relationship, during which they welcomed their two children – Lola – 13, and Nakoa-Wolf, 11. years.

He insisted to Men’s Health that he was the complete opposite of his alpha male roles, saying of his GoT character: ‘I might look fat and tough, but I don’t am not. I’m nothing like Khal Drogo. I’m not even the king of my own house! I am absolutely terrified of my wife.

“Even though I work in Hollywood, I am 100% from the Midwest. I work hard and take nothing for granted. I am a big family guy.

And the lockdown only strengthened his relationship with his wife and children, as he gushed: ‘We have all come so close. My wife is very sophisticated and intelligent and our children and I are like animals that need to be trained a little better. I am constantly a work in progress and just trying to improve myself as a father and husband.

Jason admitted that his wife had bullied him when they first met and he had to be brave to invite her out, when he was only 26 and 38.

‘[I was] a mess, he admitted. “ Especially when you meet someone who is completely passionate about you and then you find out that she is amazing, smart and funny and that she is a goddess and you are degenerate … I was a nervous wreck. ”

Things worked out well and he even now has a close relationship with Lisa’s ex-Lenny Kravitz and his stepdaughter, actress Zoe Kravitz, 31.

“I adore her husband. I adore his father, proudly gushes Jason de Zoe. “I hope and pray that my daughter will be so talented, loving, open and close to her family.

But he worries about when his daughter Lola starts dating, admitting he cried on his 13th birthday.

“I’m not going to do well. I’ll just hate it if she brings home a bad boy. I’m like, ‘If you find a man who treats you better than me [treat Bonet], good luck!’ he said.

Momoa can then be seen in the rebooted sci-fi epic Dune – an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel that also stars Timothée Chalamet, Josh Brolin, and Javier Bardem.
