Should the “best Chris” be called Chris after all?
Jason Sudeikis stepped out in a blue suit at the 2021 Emmy Awards, drawing comparisons to Chris Evans’ surprisingly similar look at the 2019 Oscars.
While the “Ted Lasso” star’s Tom Ford ensemble isn’t actually the same as Evans’ Salvatore Ferragamo version – plus he accessorized with Eazy-E Stance socks – Twitter users have quickly highlighted the velvet jackets and matching black bow ties of the stars.
“I appreciate that Jason Sudeikis recycled this Chris Evans costume. They both put hell ”, one tweeted, while another added, “IS JASON SUDEIKIS WEARING THE CHRIS EVANS BLUE VELVET SUIT ?????? we are men of taste.
Others called the “Captain America” star a “trend maker,” wondering, “Do you think Jason Sudeikis told his stylist he wanted to look like Chris Evans.”
By the way, Sudeikis and Evans were both dressed by the same stylist, Ilaria Urbinati, for the events in question.
Sudeikis is up for four awards for “Ted Lasso” at the 2021 Emmys, where his co-stars including Brett Goldstein and Hannah Waddingham have already won trophies.
Regardless of the style inspiration, the star’s suit certainly steers away from the more casual award-winning styles he’s sported lately.
Sudeikis wore a tie-dye hoodie from his sister’s dance studio, Forward Space, to the Virtual Golden Globes in February after ditching the Tom Ford costume he planned to wear. And he continued the trend at the Critics’ Choice Awards in March, where he wore a Crockett High sweatshirt as a tribute to ex-fiancée Olivia Wilde’s first film, “Booksmart.”
“I knew 100% that it would be a task to accomplish. It’s me. I’m a rebellious rouser, ”he said later, doubling down on his dressy style.
Something he probably didn’t predict, though? A battle “who wore him the best” with Captain America.
