The couple, who share a son and daughter, announced their engagement in 2013 but split in 2020.
Sudeikis, who landed an Emmy nomination on Tuesday for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for “Ted Lasso,” told GQ magazine he’s still trying to get some clarification on what happened between them.
“I will understand better why in a year,” said Sudeikis. “And even better one in two, and even bigger in five, and it’ll go from being, you know, a book of my life to becoming a chapter to a paragraph to a line to a word to a doodle.”
The breakup was pretty public for the former couple who met in 2011.
For her part, Sudeikis looks like she’s trying to grow up from that.
“It’s an experience you learn from or apologize for,” he said. “You take some responsibility for it, you hold yourself accountable for what you do, but you also strive to get something out of it beyond the obvious.”
