Washington football team named Jason wright as team president, the first black team president in NFL history.
Yes this is a big problem.
The 38-year-old spent 7 years as an NFL running back as an undrafted free agent for the Northwestern in 2004.
He spent time with the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals – racking up 1,214 total yards and 5 touchdowns.
During the NFL lockout in 2011, Wright decided to quit school and received his master’s degree in business from the University of Chicago. He then became a partner of McKinsey & Co., a large consulting firm.
Wright spoke with ‘GMA’ about his new job – and explained why he was so excited about the gig.
“The fact that I’m black and the most qualified person is a boost,” Wright said.

@GMA
Wright says he’s well aware of the PR issues the team faces – from the controversy over team name to the allegations of sexual harassment – and says he looks forward to contributing to the “transformation of culture”.
Regarding the new team name, Wright says he hasn’t spread the beans yet. He has just been hired!
Wright is the second non-white recruit to Washington in recent months – after being named Ron rivera the head coach.
Rivera replaced Jay gruden. Wright takes over for Bruce allen – both were fired in 2019.
Wright later tweeted: “So excited to join the movement the Snyders and Coach Rivera have started. Ready to take the plunge!”
Congratulations!
