The Java edition of Minecraft has been updated to version 1.14, which offers a host of new features, including looters, crossbows and raids. Now, groups of Illagers, including Pillagers equipped with crossbows, will attack and attack the cities, which may ring a new bell to call everyone inside.
Crossbows shoot arrows, but with a little more punch – they will do more damage than bows, but they will have less durability. They can be delighted with the multishot (which splits the arrows into three shots), the piercing (the crossbow bolts pass through the enemy crowds) and the fast charge (which reduces the reload time).
Crossbows also have their own reloading mechanism and you must hold down the 'Use' button until the crossbow rope is completely removed.
The Village & Pillage Update also features looting patrols, which will roam the world on periodic raids in the cities. They also have their own looters outposts, generated by a "new mystery block", called the puzzle.
Some illustrious people will now have frightening banners over their heads, and these indicate a group of raids. Mojang's release notes do not describe how they work, but say you must be careful not to kill illusions with banners. If you do, you may find yourself cursed with "Bad Omen", which will make you extremely undesirable in most normal villages.
There is a ton of additions and additional changes in version 1.14. Ocelots and cats are now considered separate animals, and the important difference between them is that cats can be tamed, while ocelots can not. It turns out that ghosts are extremely afraid of cats, which makes them convenient to have around them.
