“There was nothing to do.”

In June of last year, Saturday Night Live Former Jay Pharoah has revealed that he was arrested by LAPD officers and handcuffed while one of the officers put his knee on his neck.

In a preview of her upcoming appearance on Taraji P. Henson’s Facebook Watch series Peace of mind with Taraji, Pharaoh explained what had happened when he told his parents about the incident.

“I called and talked to my mom, she was on the phone,” Pharoah recalls. “Of course my dad was in the background. But my mom was right – I could hear it in her voice. I could hear the shake, the ‘what if.'”

“She said, ‘We could have lost you today, if it had been different.’ She said, “You really have to thank God. I said, “Thank God. But mom, I’m just angry right now. I’m in a way that I’ve never been angry before. Because I’ve never been through this.” “

Pharoah described his mother’s reaction as “[feeling] totally helpless “before continuing to congratulate his parents on his education:” Both from the neighborhood. But they tried to shelter me in a way that I didn’t have to deal with it. “

“And at the end of the day, I took care of that. There was nothing to do. So I know that moment for them had to be emotional as well.”
