A new Justice with Jeanine Pirro will not be airing tonight. Instead, Fox News will air a new series of the documentary series Scandalous in the slot of 21h.
Pirro's absence on the airwaves is remarkable, not only because the Fox News host rarely misses his Saturday show, but also because his absence comes a week after his controversial remarks about Rep. Ilhan Omar.
During its opening last Saturday, Pirro said this while talking about the first member of Congress: "Think about it. In response, Fox News condemned Pirro's remarks.
"We strongly condemn the words of Judge Jeanine Pirro concerning the representative Ilhan Omar," reads the statement provided to Mediaite. "They do not reflect those of the network and we approached the issue with it directly."
Pirro also reacted to the controversy by issuing a statement inviting Omar to participate in his show and insisting that she did not call Omar "non-American".
"I've heard a lot of comments about my opening statement from the Saturday night show and I have not called the representative Omar a-American," Pirro said. "My intention was to ask a question and start a debate, but of course, being a Muslim does not mean that you do not support the Constitution." Fox News responded to a request for comment by saying, "We do not comment on internal planning issues."
