Just like he said in the song.

Jeezy and Jeannie Mai got hitched to their Atlanta home on March 27, Vogue reports.

On Wednesday, Page Six reported that the couple had applied for a marriage license in Fulton County, Georgia. The nuptials were somewhat of a comeback for the couple, who got engaged in March 2020 at Jeezy’s after their trip to Vietnam was canceled due to the pandemic.

“We couldn’t wait to have all of our friends and family there to celebrate,” Mai, 42, told Vogue. “But we had to change all of our wedding plans because of COVID. After the unexpected death of Jeezy’s mother, we quickly learned that life was too short.

“And at the end of the day, Jeezy and I really wanted to be husband and wife. So we decided to turn our original wedding into a mini-money, where we exchanged vows in front of our immediate family and a few close friends.

Mai, whose wedding dress was by Galia Lahav, reassured the magazine that the couple needed COVID-19 test results negative from arriving guests two days in advance. Guests also received coronavirus tests the same day before being transported to the couple’s home.

Mai and Jeezy, 43, managed to work on a Vietnamese theme for the ceremony, with Mai’s brother leading the couple in a tea ceremony, a nod to Mai’s Vietnamese and Chinese heritage, before to exchange their vows.

Other relevant details: Jeezy, wearing a pastel pink tuxedo, walked down the aisle to Kem’s “I Can’t Stop Loving You”, while Mai followed the Bee Gees’ “How Deep Is Your Love” ; Jeezy surprised Mai by asking Tyrese to sing her first song, “Sweet Lady”; the couple and their guests put on their pajamas for the reception; a pair of family friends designed the ski board the couple used to take for their first drink.

The “Real” co-host and rapper started dating in 2018. Their union is Mai’s second marriage – she split from ex-husband Freddy Harteis in 2017 after 10 years of marriage – and the first for Jeezy, father of three children. .
