Former CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos was criticized on social media in response to a “insensitive to tone” comment that was made at a press conference on Tuesday.
Following the launch of the New Shepard rocket developed by his aerospace manufacturing company, Blue Origin, Bezos alongside the rest of the crew held a press conference to discuss their experience and expressed appreciation for the successful launch.
Bezos thanked the people who made the launch possible, including “every Amazon employee and every Amazon customer,” continuing, “you paid for it all.
The comment sparked immense backlash on Twitter, with many noting that the statement was seen as disrespectful to employees and customers.
