Jeff Bridges is making progress in his fight against lymphatic cancer.

The Big Lebowski star, 71, said in a statement on his website that a “ new protocol ” he was undergoing in his battle for health appears to be a success.

“ I’m going to do a CT scan to see if my new protocol is shrinking my tumor, ” the Oscar winner said. “It turns out that it works wonderfully. The thing has shrunk considerably.

The Hollywood veteran, from films such as Crazy Heart, Starman, The Last Picture Show and True Grit, said he returned home “ delighted with the news ”.

Bridges said his mood dropped after hearing the news of the deadly riots on the U.S. Capitol.

“I turn on the TV to find out what’s going on in the world, and… .well… I don’t have to tell you what’s going on,” Bridges says. “Seeing our country attacking itself broke my heart.

Bridges said introspection led him to a familiar source of inspiration in the midst of the murderous day, which saw extremists enter the U.S. Capitol to protest the 2020 election results.

“A question arose in me – what should an individual do in a situation like this? Bridges says. “My mentor, Rozzell Sykes, came to mind. His mantra was Be Love. ‘

He shared several works by the late Sykes, a Los Angeles-based artist who died in 1994, further down on his page.

Bridges opened up about his cancer diagnosis on October 19 on social media.

“As the dude would say… A new S ** T has appeared,” Bridges said, quoting a line from Lebowski. “I was diagnosed with lymphoma.

“Although it is a serious illness, I feel fortunate to have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good. I am starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery. I am deeply grateful for the love and support of my family and friends.

He added: ‘Thank you for your prayers and best wishes … Love, Jeff. ”

He later said he was grateful for the wishes he received in the middle of his prognosis: ‘I want to thank you all for reaching out during this time, it feels good to receive all good wishes and love! ”
