Jeff Glor will say goodbye to CBS Evening News on Friday

Jeff Glor, the presenter of "CBS Evening News", will leave the show on Friday, according to a CBS source who did not want to be named.

It's still unclear whether Glor stays on the network at a certain level or whether it's going totally, added the source, adding, "There is always a negotiation and we hope that it will not be over. ;he stays."

CAS officials and Glor representatives at OManagement declined to comment on his continued employment. A message sent to Glor's assistant was not immediately returned. The Daily Beast was the first to announce that Glor's latest show would be on Friday.

Glor is on display after a total reshuffle of CBS News. On Monday, CBS News President Susan Zirinsky named Norah O'Donnell, anchor of "This Morning", new anchor and editorial director of CBS Evening News.

O'Donnell is expected to take office this summer, according to a CBS News announcement regarding the transition. The show is also expected to move to Washington DC, partly to allow O'Donnell to search for more breaking news from the capital.

One person familiar with the network plans said that CBS would remove from its group of existing anchors to replace Glor in the short term.

The ratings of the issue have declined by 8% among 25-25 year olds, which is highly prized by advertisers, during the first four months of the year compared to last year . The question of odds put Zirinsky under pressure to change. Glor took over the show in December 2017 and had one of the shortest anchor mandates of the evening.
