Jeff Hardy, WWE star, arrested for public drunkenness

Police said they received a report of an intoxicated person in Myrtle Beach around 11 am. Shortly after, the authorities arrested Hardy without incident and accused him of public intoxication.

Hardy filed a $ 153 bond and was released the same day.

In a statement, WWE said: "Jeff Hardy is responsible for his personal acts."

Hardy Boyz, 41, half of the wrestling duo, pleaded guilty last year to driving into drunkenness in North Carolina. WBTV, affiliated with CNN, had been responsible for 48 hours of community service and alcohol counseling, in addition to paying a $ 300 fine and restoring its license.

The veteran wrestler is a nine-time WWE team champion with his brother Matt.

Hardy's injured right knee earlier this year and underwent surgery in May, the WWE said.

Hardy said in May that he was not expecting to return to combat before six to nine months.
