Considering the number of gigantic, flesh-eating aliens lurking nearby, the character of Emily Blunt and her three children might not be too excited to visit A quiet place for a third time. But she probably will, now that Deadline is reporting that Jeff Nichols will be directing a third installment in the creature features franchise. A quiet place 2, written and directed by John Krasinski, as is A quiet place, was originally slated for release on March 20 of this year, but has been pushed back, like so many films, to next year, with Paramount currently filming for a release date of April 23, 2021. The threequel, meanwhile, will drop in 2022.
As for the truly nightmarish scenario the Abbotts (or, potentially, a new cast of characters) will have to endure in a third film, well, it’s one that sprang from the terrifying mind of Mr. John Krasinski. Director Nichols, known for Midnight special, To protect, Mud, and Magnet, will write the script, based on an idea of the Jack ryan star, an idea that presumably includes people silently fleeing in terror from the homicidal Slendermen films from space, at one point or another.
