just revealed why she was really fired from Man with a plan – and that should come as no surprise to fans of Office.

The actress, who rose to fame as Pam in longtime workplace comedy, was scheduled to star in the CBS series alongside Matt LeBlanc, who starred in Friends like the adorable – if not so bright – Joey.

While two sitcom superstars may seem like a perfect match for a new comedy, Fischer explained on the last episode of her. – that she co-hosts with others Office alumni Angela Kinsey – that it was her and the previous LeBlanc characters who derailed this plan.

After filming the pilot, Fischer explained that focus groups were set up to assess the episode.

“They said – that’s a literal quote, they said, ‘I don’t believe Pam would marry Joey. The chemistry doesn’t work between those two, ”Fischer told Kinsey. “These are the comments they received. “

She said she was surprised when her agent called her to tell her she was not going ahead with the project.

“The first thing I said was, ‘Isn’t it being picked up?’ And they said, ‘It’s worse than that, eh.’ And I was like, ‘What’s worse than that?’ They said, “It starts, but without you,” Fischer explained. “And I was like, ‘Wow, I guess I’m going to unpack my suitcase.'”

Man with a plan ran for four seasons from 2016 to 2020. Liza Snyder replaced Fischer in the role

Fischer has already spoken Office ladies on how she felt her character received sexist criticism over the show’s nine seasons. She explained how Pam’s love interest Jim – played by John Krasinski – didn’t have the same backfire as Pam by making very similar choices.

“When Pam went to art school for only three months when she was not yet married and had no children, people felt her very badly because of Jim’s feelings.” , Fischer said. “Then when Jim invested in a business without telling Pam, and left his family, and left Pam alone to look after their two children while he pursued his dreams, people came back to Pam for not having supported Jim enough.

She continued, “So in these two cases, I just want to say that I noticed a lot of hatred for Pam. Do I want to call her sexist? I do.”
