The clip features a person highlighting Aniston’s ‘vocal tick’ playing Rachel Green and warns viewers that once they notice, ‘this is going to ruin your life’.
“Jennifer Aniston has this kind of vocal tick that she does at the start of every sentence she begins,” says the TikTok narrator. “It’s very specific and very hard to miss once you notice it.”
But for those who revel in their newfound knowledge of “friends,” Twitter will be there for you.
Jennifer Aniston’s throat-clearing tic is so bad that it took over 25 years to notice it. People suck.

I’m not even a fan of “Friends” and I can tell it’s not a Jennifer Aniston Vocal Tic, it’s a Rachel. Look at Jennifer in interviews and she doesn’t.
People are dumb, for real. pic.twitter.com/9oJNirh4hP

No more fake news. That “verbal tic” that Jennifer Aniston has in Friends? Yeah, no, it’s called playing. She clears her throat when her character is uncomfortable with what she is saying (because it’s a lie, or awkward, etc.).
This is the acting game.

The vast majority of lines are delivered without that little cough, precisely because most of the time Rachel is happy with what she is saying.
