A desperate search continues to find a missing mother of five in Connecticut. Jennifer Dulos, 50, was last seen on May 24 in New Canaan.
CBS New York has learned that the police were convinced that Dulos was a victim of a criminal offense, but on Friday the police said she had not found a body and that she " "did not call this case a homicide". They stated that they would not discuss any people of interest or suspects since the investigation is "active and in progress".
On Thursday, investigators expanded their search in Westchester County, New York. CBS New York announced that the missing woman's parents were owners of a mansion located at Mallard Lake Road in Pound Ridge.
Police in New Canaan, Connecticut, visited this property on Thursday while she was desperately looking for the mother of five children, including two pairs of twins. All her children are safe with their families, reported WFSB-TV, a subsidiary of CBS.
Dulos disappeared from his rental housing in New Canaan after dropping off the kids at school on Friday. His vehicle was found abandoned near Waveny Park, where Bill Stuek is walking his dog.
"I find it amazing," Stuek said of the situation. "Incredible, and also the dissemination of information about what happened was lacking."
The police did not share much information during her searches, but sources confirmed that they found no activity on the missing woman's cell phone or credit cards.
The investigators look closely at her ex-husband, Fotis Dulos. A handyman told CBS New York that he had already had an unpleasant exchange with Dulos about work on the Westchester property.
"Yelling [at] me, and he has a very bad mouth, "said Luis Tapia, adding that he had been asked if Fotis Dulos had threatened him," No, I'm just shouting [at] me."
In divorce papers, Jennifer Dulos accused her husband of infidelity, cruelty and the threat of kidnapping children and taking them to Greece.
He denied the charges and, in a letter filed on Tuesday, claimed that the children are under arms in the apartment of Gloria Farber's maternal grandmother, on Fifth Avenue, and that he wishes that they be returned to him.
Back in New Canaan, residents gathered in a church on Thursday night, worried about the death of the 50-year-old man.
"New Canaan is a very united community and when something like this happens, when one of ours disappears, it affects the whole community," said Father Robert Kinnally, of Saint Aloysius Catholic Church. .
Also at the prayer service Thursday, the director of the New Canaan Country School where are registered the five children Dulos.
He assured the community that they are safe and that they are being treated while the search continues to find their mother.
