Jennifer Lawrence is expecting her first child
The Hunger Games star announced on Wednesday that she and her husband, art director, Cooke Maroney, are due to be parents.

Jennifer Lawrence and her friend Amy Schumer were among thousands who marched at the Abortion Justice Rally in Washington, DC on Saturday.
Schumer, 40, posted a photo of one of hundreds of Women’s March protests taking place nationwide alongside Lawrence, 31, who showed off her baby bump. “I don’t have a uterus and she is pregnant but we are here @womensmarch @plannedparenthood #rallyforabortionjustice 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼,” Schumer captioned her Instagram post.
A representative for Lawrence confirmed to USA TODAY in early September that the actress and her husband, Cooke Maroney, 37, are expecting their first child together.
In Schumer’s photo on Saturday, the comedian held a sign saying “abortion is essential” while Lawrence’s sign read: “Women cannot be free if they are not in control of their bodies.”
Rosanna Arquette, Sharon Stone, Kate Hudson and Alicia Keys applauded Schumer’s post with emoji-filled comments.

Schumer, who has spoken openly about her infertility issues, revealed last month that she had her uterus and appendix removed as a result of endometriosis, a condition in which tissues usually find that the uterus begins to grow in other parts of the body, causing long-term pelvic pain during and between periods.

Schumer posted a photo on Instagram of stories of herself speaking at the rally.
In a previous Instagram post, Schumer wrote: “Everyone deserves a safe and supported abortion, at all times and for any reason.”
More than 650 marches took place across the country on Saturday to demand continued access to one-year abortion as conservative lawmakers and judges put it in jeopardy. The marches took place a month after a Texas law went into effect banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.
At the Washington Abortion Justice Rally, a crowd of protesters gathered around a banner on Saturday proclaiming “Forbid our bodies!” Like “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper burst through the loudspeakers.
