Jennifer Lawrence is not afraid to joke about an ex-boyfriend.
Lawrence and his principal collaborator, David O. Russell, gathered for a conference at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday where they reflected on their work, from the "Silver Linings Playbook" to the "Joy".
The two men started the conversation by telling how they had met for the first time at an AFI lunch, where Russell had seen her from the other side of the room.
"She was talking – are you okay if I say that?" Russell asked.
"Yeah," Lawrence replied with a laugh.
"Darren Aronofsky, in the parking lot," Russell answered.
"I've done a lot of networking at this lunch, I guess!"
Lawrence and Aronofsky worked together on the 2017 movie "Mother!" The two men had a romantic relationship, but decided to leave her in November of the same year.
Since then she has been engaged to art gallery owner Cooke Maroney. Her glittering engagement ring was on display throughout Tribeca's speech.
Russell also teased another collaboration with Lawrence, saying to the public at the end: "I'm writing something for you now."
He did not provide any other details.
