Jennifer Lopez Movie Marry Me Passes 2022 – Deadline

Another bad news for the exhibition, and that of the distributor who kindly released films during the pandemic: Universal offers its musical romantic comedy by Jennifer Lopez Marry me from May 14, 2021 to February 11, 2022.

Translation: The studio has enough faith in the film to postpone it and give it all the box office potential when the market is back in shape. Not to mention that February 11 is Valentine’s Day weekend, a perfect four-day weekend for a movie like this. Uni had already reserved the release date. Marry me will run into wide entries from Sony Unexplored and an untitled title from 20th Century Studios.

The film follows music superstars Kat Valdez (Lopez) and Bastian (Maluma) tie the knot in front of a worldwide audience of fans. But when Kat learns, seconds before her vows, that Bastian has been unfaithful, she decides to marry Charlie (Owen Wilson), a stranger in the crowd, instead. Kat Coiro is directing a screenplay by John Rogers and Tami Sagher with rewrites by Harper Dill.

Universal has also announced the release of an untitled Blumhouse film on Friday, January 28, 2022. No further theatrical releases are scheduled on that date.
