Actress and actress Jenny Slate announced Monday night that she was engaged to her boyfriend Ben Shattuck.
"He took me to France and did a picnic and made me feel happy and free, then he asked me to marry him and I had shouted YES, "said Slate, 37, on Instagram.
"I love you, Ben Shattuck," she continued. "You are the nicest and the brightest, and I am very grateful to you, we are going and going on."
"In an abandoned castle in the south of France, I asked this woman to marry me," Shattuck wrote in his own message.
Slate and Shattuck were seen together at the Sundance Film Festival in January. He is curator of his mother's art gallery, the Dedee Shattuck Gallery. Their website describes him as a writer and painter and gives his alma mater the name of Cornell University.
Slate was famous in a relationship from time to time with Chris Evans: the couple was a favorite of commentators on the Internet.
