Jessica Simpson and her husband Eric Johnson on Tuesday welcomed a baby girl named Birdie Mae, she announced via social media on Wednesday. Little Birdie weighed 10 pounds, 13 ounces.
Simpson had a difficult pregnancy with a severe case of swollen feet and hospitalization for bronchitis.
The singer turned designer, Simpson, announced that she was pregnant in September with a celebration revealing the genre.
The announcement of her baby took place a year after she told Ellen DeGeneres that "nothing will get into [her] uterus "again.
This is the third child of Simpson, 38 years old, and her husband, Eric Johnson, 39 years old. Their new bundle of joy joins sister Maxwell Drew, age 6, and brother Ace Knute, age 5.
