Jets claim a pair of injured Patriots

The patriots let them go and the Jets picked them up.

The Jets claimed on Tuesday two unprepared rookies, receiver Xavier Ubosi and offensive tackle Calvin Anderson. New England recently gave up both players.

Ubosi, a 6-foot-3 target, recorded 48 receptions for 1,065 yards and nine touchdowns in 20 games in Alabama-Birmingham.

Anderson began his college career at Rice before being transferred to Texas last season. He played three years with the left tackle at Rice and started 14 games in 2018 with the left tackler in Texas, where he earned All-Big 12.

To make room on the formation, the Jets cut off receiver DeAngelo Yancey and tackler Dieugot Joseph. Both players spent time in 2018 in the Jets' training team.
