9News in Denver reported that Greg Knapp, a longtime NFL aide who joined the Jets in January as the passing play coordinator, is fighting for his life in a California hospital after being hit by a motorist while that he was riding his bicycle. The report says he suffered serious injuries.

Knapp, 58, has been an NFL assistant coach since 1997, working mostly with quarterbacks. He worked for the 49ers, Falcons, Raiders, Seahawks, Texans and Broncos before joining the Jets as Robert Saleh’s new staff.

Knapp has spent the last three seasons as a quarterback coach for the Falcons. He won a Super Bowl with the Broncos in 2015 as Peyton Manning’s quarterbacks coach.
