Corey Davis said he felt his chemistry with rookie quarterback Zach Wilson start to kick in throughout training camp – and it certainly turned into playing action.

Without them, Davis was forced to take on the Panthers – but the same can’t be said of Elijah Moore.
The Jets’ second-round pick in 2021 struggled on his NFL debut, catching one of four targets for under-3 yards. There were certainly some concerns in Game 1 for Moore, but many of his targets were in his hands and turned out to be incomplete.
As one of the leaders of the team, Davis confirmed that he had had a discussion with Moore to tell him that there would always be ups and downs in his career.
“It was his first game,” said Davis. “He’s probably going to get it out differently than I would.” There is a lot to learn for sure. That’s all you need to focus on, worry about what’s in those walls, nothing else really matters.
The Patriots will certainly focus on covering Davis when both teams take the field Sunday afternoon, but the 26-year-old is set to face a solid New England defense. Head coach Bill Belichick praised Davis, calling him an “exceptional” player who can make a lot of contested holds.
“Obviously, playing under Bill, he’s going to do you good,” Davis said. “They make few mistakes, they steal and they pay a lot. It will be a good challenge for us as an offense.
