Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has organized the kind of Friday press conference that would certainly generate a surge of traffic (and revenue) for all media capable of publishing everything online. The Jets do it, and finally they did not do it.
Yes, the Jets 'official website, run by the Jets, has decided not to broadcast the full video of Williams' weekly press conference, during which he questioned the skills of Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr., suggesting that the Giants' decision to negotiate confirms this skepticism, and quarrels with reporters over whether Williams has already led "dirty" games. Last week's Williams press conference is on the site, as are this week's press conferences by offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains and team coordinator Brent Boyer.
Instead of viewing the entirety of the nine-minute video, the Jets published an article based on Williams' answers to some non-controversial questions.
If this surprises you, you will not yet understand that this is what happens when the media is owned and operated by the only subject of the media coverage. Even though Williams' remarks on OBJ and the dirty game were the most media-centric object on the New York Jets on Friday, you will not find them anywhere on NewYorkJets.com.
