Warzone’s latest mid-season update was released on July 14 and brought an absolutely huge set of upgrades and weapon nerfs, as Raven Software took a big step towards its ultimate goal of increasing the BR kill time at all levels.

As the dust from these changes settled in, the game’s new meta slowly developed, and after speculating on what weapons might be needed after the balancing patch, Warzone expert JGOD revealed his best long-range loading options for the second half of Season 4.

The CR-56 AMAX remains the first choice for long range engagements.

Several LMGs top JGOD’s list, including the already formidable Stoner 63, and the Bruen, who returned to the meta after dominating it in previous seasons.

A wide range of ARs are also viable after the redesign, including Cold War selections like the FARA 83, Krig 6, C58, and AK-47 (if you can control its recoil). These weapons are joined by Modern Warfare’s M4A1, Grau 5.56, and CR-56 AMAX, which remain a powerful choice if you can pull off your headshots.

There are also weapons like Kilo 141 that have dropped from the meta. Most notably, the Milano SMG – which absolutely dominated at the start of Season 4 – has been knocked down several notches and is no longer a viable choice over longer distances.

Finally, for the non-automatic long-range options, the Swiss K31 and Kar98k are still nasty snipers with quality ADSs and rates of fire, and they both remain top choices to pair with an SMG. or AR at close range.

Aside from his top picks, the YouTuber noted that the latest balance sweep created an “open meta” where weapons that might not hit the absolute best TTK can still fit in the hands of skilled players.

JGOD also compared his own analysis with the data available on WZRanked, and his conclusions seem accurate as virtually every weapon mentioned in his video landed in the top 10 most used weapons after the Reloaded patch in Season 4.

The content creator has also confirmed plans to identify any changes to the close-range and sniper metas, which will likely be shared in future videos. As Season 4 draws to a close and the hype for Season 5 intensifies, be sure to come back for all the latest Warzone news.
