Jim Schoenfeld: First Vice President and Assistant Director General of the New York Rangers, resigns after 17 seasons with the organization

Vice President and Deputy General Manager Jim Schoenfeld left his position on the team.

This decision is not surprising, as it comes a few weeks after Glen Sather left his position as team president. Schoenfeld worked closely with Sather. He held various positions after joining the organization after being a senior analyst at ESPN's National Hockey Night from 1999 to 2002.

Schoenfeld was a member of the Rangers for 17 seasons (2002-03 – 2018-19), when he was appointed Blueshirts Assistant Coach on June 12, 2002. During his tenure with the Rangers, he served with several titles, including as Assistant Ranger Coach, Rangers Deputy General Manager, General Manager of the Rangers Affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL) (the Hartford Wolf Pack or Connecticut Whale), and L & # 39; ; head coach. He held the position of Deputy General Manager of Ranger Staff for eight seasons before being promoted to Senior Vice President and Deputy General Manager on July 1, 2015.

Schoenfeld served as the Wolf Pack / Whale General Manager for 14 seasons (2003-04 – 2016-17) and was the team's head coach for two seasons (2005-06 and 2006-07).
