The viral idea of an X-Files-style WandaVision spin-off starring Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) is already going to be officially presented to Marvel.
The viral idea of a WandaVision spin-off with Jimmy Woo in the style of X-Files is already presented at Marvel Studios. Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe finally began a few weeks ago with the launch of WandaVision on Disney +. The show stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch and Vision respectively, but these aren’t the only familiar MCU characters to appear. One of the others to return is Randall Park as FBI agent Jimmy Woo, who was last seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Jimmy Woo’s appearance in WandaVision episode 4 went pretty well with viewers. Her one-liners, her care for Doctor Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings), and her newfound mastery of hand-held magic tricks have had audiences asking for more. This included the social media call for Jimmy Woo to get his own spinoff show. Several ideas were pitched among fans, but the most popular viral suggestion came from actor / director Stephen Ford. He proposed a fallout in X-Filesvein where Jimmy Woo and company investigate other bizarre cases after the Westview anomaly. While many have categorized this pitch as nothing more than a great internet idea that wouldn’t happen, it looks like Marvel Studios is listening.

The popularity of Stephen Ford’s original tweet suggesting a Jimmy Woo WandaVision the fallout allowed him to go through the appropriate channels to make his idea a reality. Days after making calls and sending emails, which overlapped with the idea of gaining even more support, Ford confirmed that he will be officially pitching his idea to Marvel soon. Ford plans to spend the next few days writing the pitch and will present it to Marvel sometime after.
Uh. Sensational. So. We may have opened doors to my idea of Jimmy Woo X-Files.
I spend the weekend writing the pitch.
I can’t express how much of an underdog I am in this scenario so get too excited but fingers crossed and thank you to everyone who made this possible. pic.twitter.com/cEEIz7WSlY

No matter what happens in the wake of Ford’s presentation, it’s clear that there is a lot of interest in a Jimmy Woo spinoff similar to the one he’s offering. Randall Park has said he wants to tackle a Jimmy Woo spinoff. He said Screen Rant he would like to make a Agents of Atlas spin-off with Darcy. Support for more Jimmy Woo content has gone beyond the fans and actors directly involved. Shang-Chi and the legend of the ten rings Star Simu Liu wants the spinoff series to happen as well, and he’s already volunteered to make an appearance there.
Of course, the future of Jimmy Woo’s MCU will largely depend on how his story WandaVision ends. But the idea derived from Ford’s Jimmy Woo certainly has some fun possibilities. There were also rumors in the past that Marvel was already considering a Agents of Atlas Disney + series. If they haven’t already agreed on a direction or story for this show, then maybe Ford X-Files the idea can be merged with the concept of Jimmy Woo leading his own super team. Considering that Marvel Studios already has a handful of Disney + shows in the works, it could be some time before an official word is announced on a Jimmy Woo spinoff. But I hope it is only a matter of time before that happens.
