President Joe Biden’s name has verified that The Walt Disney Company, Netflix, Google, Fox Corp. and other private companies have instituted new vaccine requirements for their employees.
In calling the alarming increase in Covid-19 cases a “pandemic of the unvaccinated,” the president also sought to distinguish the large companies that have instituted their own types of mandates in recent weeks.
“The private sector is also intensifying,” Biden said in his remarks. “Even Fox has vaccination requirements. I want to thank Walmart, Google, Netflix, Disney, Tyson Foods for their recent actions requiring vaccinations for employees.
“Look, I know it’s not easy, but I’ll have their backs, and the backs of other leaders in the public-private sector if they take such steps.”

The deadline reported July 19 that Fox Corp. employees. in the United States who have not been vaccinated would be required to comply with a series of workplace restrictions, including social distancing and mask wearing. Those who have been vaccinated will not face the same requirements if they enter their vaccination status on the company’s employee site, Workday. The policy was outlined in a June email to employees.
While a number of Fox News figures have encouraged viewers to get the shot, some of the network’s prime-time hosts, including Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham, featured a succession of guests and segments skeptical about to clichés.
Last week, Netflix announced a vaccine requirement for casts on its projects, while The Walt Disney Co. unveiled a policy in which all salaried and non-union hourly workers in the United States should be fully immunized.
In his remarks, Biden warned that the increase in Covid cases is a “largely preventable tragedy that will get worse before it gets better.”
“It’s moving like wildfire through the unvaccinated community and it’s heartbreaking,” he said.
But he also pointed to more encouraging recent signs that vaccination rates are on the rise again. “The message is getting across, apparently,” he said.
