The husband of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice wants to return to her home and spend time with her family while awaiting a final decision as to whether she should be kept in the United States.

The Giudices pleaded guilty in 2014 to financial fraud. Under an agreement allowing them to serve sentences to care for their four young girls, Teresa Giudice served her sentence first and was released in December 2015.

After his release, Joe Giudice served a 41-month sentence. A judge ruled that he should be deported once the work is completed. Giudice said through his lawyers that he came to the United States as a child and did not know he was not an American citizen.

On Wednesday, the 47-year-old is scheduled to appear at a hearing to plead for his release from Clinton County Detention Center in McElhattan, Pennsylvania, where, according to federal records, he has been living since his release. of federal prison.

"What's happening to Joe Giudice and his family and to thousands of other families about these draconian immigration laws is simply inhuman," said Giudice's lawyer at the Daily News .

Teresa Giudice and the four daughters of the couple have launched a petition on "STOP the deportation of Joe Giudice" on Change.org in the hope of keeping him in the country.

In the body of the petition, Giudice's daughters write: "We ask our president, Donald J. Trump, to review our petition and to forgive my father for releasing him from the life sentence imposed by the courts. Yes, in Italy, he will no longer be incarcerated, but will he ever be free if he was kept from his family and could be a productive member of society? "

On Wednesday, the petition had 101,367 signatures.
